VIOLATIONS OF HUMAN RIGHTS

         As we all may know, human rights are a very sensitive topic that many people around the world have different opinions on it. Human rights are norms that aspire to protect all people everywhere from severe political, legal and social abuses. Examples of human rights are freedom of religion, the right to a fair trial when charged with a crime, the right not to be tortured, and the right to education. Today, with the advent of social media, almost all the nations of the world promise to ensure its citizen's human rights. However, the meaning and the extent of it differ from place to place.

       Firstly, as we all can see from this picture, it is a comparison of a different human needs and desires. Half of the picture shows a girl kissing her loved one and the other half show a child "kissing" the water. My thoughts about this picture are that we all have our own needs and wants which each of us faces. We who lives in an economically advanced country, may only have few needs. But people who lives in a  less economically advanced country, their needs can be the most basic needs that we can easily get everyday. For example, we all know  that in Africa, some area experience water crisis because of poor water management. While in Northern Africa has 92% safe water coverage, Sub-Saharan Africa remains at a low 60% of coverage leaving 40% of the 783  million people in that region without access to clean drinking water. Also, almost 1/3 of the sub-Saharan population are in danger of hunger due to lack of access to food. 

           Next, this picture is a comparison of a child from different place. The well-dressed child on the left can be seen smiling and the child on the right can be seen crying and is poorly dressed. My first thoughts about this picture are that the issues that some nation in the world faced especially the children. As an example, Pakistan, a country in South Asia, is among the poorest nation in the world. Pakistan has over 80 million children and is suffering to fulfill their needs. These causes many children in Pakistan take up low paying jobs in order to provide for themselves and their families. Many of these jobs are hazardous and dangerous. However, the children have no choice but to do them in order to receive any form of payment to feed themselves and their families. Other than that, children in Pakistan also struggle as they are vulnerable to several development challenges impacting their safeguarding including quality of education, prevention of sexual exploitation of children, child trafficking, and marriage. Despise everything, the full realization of Children's Rights is still going to demands enormous time and effort.

          Lastly, from the picture above we all can see that half of the picture shows a guy holding and playing a guitar and the other half of the picture shows a teenager holding a weapon. This picture remains me of "Child Soldier" issue that happened to the children around the world. Thousand of children are serving as soldiers in armed conflicts around the world. These boys and girls, some as young as 8 years old, serve in government forces and armed opposition groups. They may participate in suicide missions, and act as spies, messengers or lookouts. As an example, as many as 250 000 boys under the age of 18 served in the British Army during World War One. Because children are often physically vulnerable, easily intimidated and susceptible to psychological manipulation, they typically make obedient soldiers. Many child soldiers are compelled to follow these orders under threat of severe punishment or death. Child soldiers who refuse to comply with orders may be severely beaten or threatened with execution.

           In a nutshell, human right are very essential for a happy living of human being. In my opinion, people from countries I mentioned above does not need charity but they need good leadership and they deserve someone to teach them an effective leadership system to change their life as these days they are violated endlessly. Thus, the government and citizens must take effort to protect each other and progress for the better. I believe that any concept of human rights should include the right for individuals to do as they choose, the right for people to vote for their national leaders, and the right for people to have food and water to sustain themselves. In other words, this will ensure happiness and prosperity all over the world.
